The Moses Lake Medical Team recently completed a successful two-week medication mission to Ibadan, Oyo-State, in Nigeria. This is the 4th annual medical mission for the team, and it took place between the 7th and the 18th of November, 2011. This mission was conducted in association with the New Reality International (INR), another non-profit organization in North America, with members from both the United States of America and Canada. The Moses Lake Medical team would like to thank the members of the NRI for their assistance. Things wouldn’t have run as smoothly as they did, without their presence. The Jason Foundation from Nigeria also took part in this medical mission.
We would also like to thank our host The Bridge Network (TBN) under the leadership of Pastor Francis Madojemu for inviting us. Without the confidence and the trust you have in God that all things are possible, the mission would have not taken place. We thank you for providing us with all the necessary amenities for getting our jobs done. We appreciate all members of the TBN who volunteered their time and expertise to make sure that the mission was a success.
Mrs. Titilayo Ogunlusi did a great job keeping us all well-fed during the mission. It is not easy providing nutritious meals for over 30 people, and especially when all the work that goes into preparing the meals is all done by a single individual. We thank you for your effort.
The owner of Banby Specialist Hospital and the owner of Molly Hospital, both in Ibadan, were very generous in allowing us to use their facilities for performing surgeries. With the help of these individuals, we were able to carry out over 50 surgical operations during the mission (see below for the kinds of surgeries).
How can we ever forget the last dinner we had? The owner of Martha’s Kitchen in Ibadan prepared us a delicious meal the night before our departure. The atmosphere was great, the food was excellent, the live music entertainment was amusing, and the most amazing part of all is that the owner charged us nothing. That is right; we didn’t have to pay a dime for all these. She said that since we travelled several thousand of miles all to come and volunteer our time for the people of Ibadan, it was the least she could do to show us appreciation. Talk about good gesture!
